TOP TEN TUESDAY – AUTHORS I HAVEN’T READ, BUT WANT TO

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl. I love Top Ten Tuesday. It’s such a fun meme, trying to come up with TEN of any given topic — some weeks its super hard to find ten, and some weeks its hard to limit yourself to ten.

This week’s topic is AUTHORS I HAVEN’T READ, BUT WOULD LIKE TO.

  • Brian McClellan – I have an ARC for the first book of his next series, and I am so excited to dive in!
  • RJ Barker – I do own The Bone Ships, I just need to actually sit down and read it. I’ve heard phenomenal things.
  • Seanan McGuire – She’s been nominated for so, so many Hugo awards that I really, really need to read at least some of her work. How can I call myself a fan of fantasy/sci-fi books if I don’t?
  • Evan WinterThe Rage of Dragons was everywhere for awhile. I really do need to read it.
  • Martha Wells – I feel slightly ashamed that I haven’t dived into the Murderbot stories at all.
  • Victoria Goddard – Alexandra Rowland has praised this book over and over. I really need to see if what they say is true or not!
  • Talia Hibbert – I have not heard any bad things about Talia’s contemp romance series. I am looking forward to these books, so so much.
  • Ursula K. Le Guin – Again with feeling like a bad fantasy/sci-fi fan in that I haven’t read a single thing by Ursula K. Le Guin!
  • Nora Roberts – Nora Roberts has written over 200 books and I haven’t read a single goshdarn one of them. I love romances. What’s wrong with me?
  • Olivie Blake – This book is everywhere right now. I gotta get on it!

Who do you want to read? Link me your Top Ten list and I’ll give it a read!

MONTHLY TBR – APRIL

I read a whopping TWELVE books in March, though I didn’t actually complete my TBR for that month. I’ll get around to Juniper and Thorn in April, for sure. Everything else though, I got through or DNFed. (Sorry Just Like Magic, I just couldn’t do it!) Here’s what I have coming up the pipeline for April. The first four I have ARCs for, but the rest have all already been released.

I’m most excited for We All Fall Down and Wolf Gone Wild. I can’t wait to dive into these books. Have you read any of these? What’s on your TBR for this month? Share your link below!

GOODREADS MONDAY – MARCH 28

Goodreads Monday is a weekly meme hosted by Budget Tales Book Blog. You choose a book from your TBR and show it off, so here we go. This week, I chose to highlight a book that came HIGHLY recommended by Alexandra Rowland. I’m not sure when I’ll be able to read it, but they could not stop raving about this book!

THE HANDS OF THE EMPEROR BY VICTORIA GODDARD

An impulsive word can start a war.
A timely word can stop one.
A simple act of friendship can change the course of history.

Cliopher Mdang is the personal secretary of the Last Emperor of Astandalas, the Lord of Rising Stars, the Lord Magus of Zunidh, the Sun-on-Earth, the god.
He has spent more time with the Emperor of Astandalas than any other person.
He has never once touched his lord.
He has never called him by name.
He has never initiated a conversation.

One day Cliopher invites the Sun-on-Earth home to the proverbially remote Vangavaye-ve for a holiday.

The mere invitation could have seen Cliopher executed for blasphemy.
The acceptance upends the world.

Have you read this book? What did you think? I just hope it’s not TOO much like the Goblin Emperor… I detested that book.
