MONDAY MORNING – NOVEMBER 7

Hi everyone! I did a little better with reading this weekend ,so I’m cautiously hopeful that way may be turning a bit of a corner! I dipped into The Foxglove King by Hannah Whitten and I’m absolutely loving it so far. It’s my first book of hers, but it’s really making me want to pick up her other ones!

This weekend was probably our last brush with really nice weather for the season — it hit close to 80 on Saturday, so we were out at the playground having a great time. I think we were outside most of the weekend, to be honest. Will had a great time, but he’s started to hit us which is really not great. It’s developmentally normal for his age, but its really hard to know how to deal with it. Right now we’re just ignoring him completely when he does it, as it’s almost certainly just for attention. Anyway, I hope you had a great weekend, and that your week to come is even better!

I saw this spotlighted on another blog and thought it sounded like something right up my alley. Not sure when I’ll get around to it, but it is on Kindle Unlimited so I’ll be able to snatch it right up when I feel like it!

THE GAUNTLET AND THE FIST BENEATH BY IAN GREEN

An action-packed and unique fantasy adventure, featuring General Floré and a quest to save her abducted daughter, by debut Scottish author, Ian Green.

Fight the Storm.

Protect your people. The endless rotstorm rages over the ruins of the Ferron Empire. Floré would never let the slavers of the Empire rise again. As a warrior of the Stormguard Commandos, she wrought horrors in the rotstorm to protect her people. She did her duty and left the bloodshed behind.

Fight for your family. Floré’s peace is shattered when blazing orbs of light cut through the night sky and descend on her village. Her daughter is abducted and Floré is forced into a chase across a land of twisted monsters and ancient gods. She must pursue the mysterious orbs, whose presence could herald the return of the Empire she spent her entire life fighting.

Destroy your enemies. Now, Floré must take up the role she had sworn to put aside and become the weapon the Stormguard trained her to be, to save not only her daughter, but her people…

Have a wonderful week!
