WWW WEDNESDAY — AUGUST 24

Will slept through the night last night after a hellish 15 month doctor visit. (He screamed the entire time.) He’s 89th percentile on weight and 74% percentile on height, so he’s a big boy! Doctor says we need to work on words, though, so here’s hoping he picks up some soon!

This meme is hosted by Taking on a World of Words. It’s super simple — all you do is answer the following questions.

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

I am currently like…15% of the way into Ashes of the Sun, and I’m enjoying it so far but whooo there’s a lot of world-building going on. Hoping some more interesting stuff happens soon. I just finished reading Beach Read, and mostly enjoyed it. The review will be out tomorrow for that one! Next, I’ll probably pick up Blood of the Chosen if I end up liking Ashes of the Sun enough to continue.

  1. Doctor visits with little kids are not fun. Mine didn’t like them because shots. We got her the Berenstein Bears doctor book. I don’t know if it helped, but we read it a lot. One of the things I did with my daughter was narrate a lot of what I was doing as she was watching or pointing out things. Oh, and reading to hear. I did that more than anything probably.

      1. You know what else I would do… I would read what I was reading outloud. But that was more in the infant stage where she wouldn’t necessarily understand. It probably wouldn’t work with a 15 month old.

  2. My son was a big boy too. This sounds silly, but I watched Sesame Street with my kids. We repeated, sang the songs, found things in the house when they looked for shapes etc. He picked up words and used them quickly once he got going. Have a great week Jordyn.
