TOP TEN TUESDAY – BOOKS I WISH HAD AN EPILOGUE

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is BOOKS I WISH HAD AN EPILOGUE. I’m going to twist this a little bit, and really make this more…books I wish had shown the characters happy more often. Because that’s what epilogues are, right? A chance to show the characters after everything has gone down, after everything has settled.

Some of these totally have epilogues. Some of these are the very beginnings of series, and thus you do see more of the characters. But like I said — I wanted more with these characters! I wanted to watch them live their lives together happily. I would, without a doubt, read about most of these characters making dinner together, or doing the dishes, or going on a walk.. Slice of life stuff, you know?

What books do you wish had an epilogue?

  1. What a great list! I definitely want more of An Enchantment of Ravens and The House in the Cerulean Sea – it’s always so sad to say goodbye to characters who have completely captured my heart.

    1. I will forever be sad that An Enchantment of Ravens is as short as it is. I know it WORKS at that length, but I just wanted to see them happy together for longer than we got!

    1. Sometimes I just want to read about my favorite characters cooking dinner, or going dancing, or doing their laundry together. SOMETIMES I JUST WANT THEM TO BE HAPPY. Maybe this is why I like fanfic so much…

    1. I haven’t read the sequels yet either, so you’re not alone there! I wanted to see more of them just living their lives together, being happy!

  3. I loved Soulless! I haven’t finished this series yet, but Alexia is the best. I don’t think I’ll have had enough even once I finish the last two books. I’m really intrigued by Witchmark, I hadn’t heard of this book before.

  4. Aah, I totally agree with you about Soulless! Changeless kind of gave off epilogue-y vibes, for like a moment before the paranormal crisis hit, but I got so attached to Alexia and Maccon, and I kind of hoped they’d get to have some wacky domestic hijinks with no stakes before the next catastrophe 😂 (I haven’t finished the series after that, though I think I mean to?) Happy TTT 💕

    1. I just wanted to see Alexia and Maccon happy together, really. Just like…living their ordinary lives!! No crisis or mysteries! You should keep reading — if I remember right, it wraps up everything nicely. 💙

  5. I could do with a whole new book for Cerulean Sea and this little family! 💜 Such a good read! Many of the others you’ve mentioned on here are on my TBR and I can’t wait to read them. Great list 😃
