Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is COMFORT READS.
There are certain books I turn to when the world seems bleak, and when everything seems absolutely awful. These books either remind me that everything will turn out alright, or they distract me and let me escape from the grim news of the day. That’s not to say these books don’t have sad storylines, or have reminders that all is not well. It’s more these books are like climbing into your own bed at night — familiar and comfortable. I’ve read all of these books more than once, and well, I’ll keep coming back for more.
Do we share any of the same comfort books?
Ooh, I still need to finish The Raven Boys and I definitely want to read a Sarah MacLean book *soon* and I’m excited to give her books a try! 😍 Great list

I’m so jealous you get to read the Raven Cycle for the first time! It’s such a well-done story, with such an awesome group of friends! And omg — I think I’ve read just about every book that Sarah MacLean has published, so when I say I love her writing, you can know that I absolutely mean it! I hope you enjoy whatever book of hers you decided to start with!!! ❤

Thanks so much! Maas is such a comfort read — knowing how everything ends up just makes me love those books even more. And yes, you absolutely need to pick up Howl’s Moving Castle bc THAT is like a hug in a book. So, so good. ❤ Thanks, Becky!

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve reread the entire series. I have a problem, and it’s Claire and Jamie’s love for each other!

I think with the Raven Boys, it’s that the characters feel like your friends, even on the first read of the series! And you should!! It is a phenomenal story. 🙂

I like your thinking Jordynn, “It’s more these books are like climbing into your own bed at night — familiar and comfortable.” The only one I have read is the Harry Potter book, but I agree, it does feel familiar.

DID I SEE Howl’s moving Castle? Ah what an absolute gem! I also LOVED the movie (never really got over my crush on Howl. Will never, probably lol) I’m yet to read The Raven Boys and The Night Circus. Have heard great things about these and can’t wait to get to them soon🤍
